River of Color

Connecting people with bright bold color.

Greater Public Studio, in collaboration with Anthony Freese, worked with the City of Tampa and Tampa Downtown Partnership to design, manage, and produce this large asphalt mural. The design includes arrows and water inspired iconography, both intended to direct pedestrians and cyclists along Tampa Riverwalk.

To get the job done, two is better than one.

The primary objective of this asphalt mural is to enhance street safety for pedestrians and cyclists, while also providing wayfinding assistance. Positioned at the intersection of Cass and Tyler in downtown Tampa, this particular mural serves a dual purpose in promoting safety and guiding individuals on their paths.

Thanks to a well-structured strategy and the invaluable support of dedicated volunteers, we successfully finished this captivating mural within a single day! The creation of such murals necessitates optimal efficiency, given the city’s limited timeframe for road closure. To expedite the process, we cleverly employed stencils, enabling us to swiftly bring the artwork to life.
